US Politik

So what are we doing?

We are steaming ahead, finishing the games, like there ISN’T a huge issue, so when things resolve (as they must), we are ready to go. We are continuing contingency planning and making some important headway on new ways to work to minimize the risk of loading a ship with cargo. (because even if there are acceptable duties and tariffs when we load the ship - 6 weeks later it could be wildly different when we arrive in port – where tariffs are assessed. It is terrifying. But again, may have a solution to help) This important planning gives us the ability to act as soon as the tariff situation becomes manageable. We are also working on contacting news outlets and state representatives, telling them about the destructive impact this is having on American businesses as well as the American public, who will see product outages and price increases.
[…] We live in a global economy. A portion of nearly all products are made in China and elsewhere in the world. My eye doctor told me this morning that eyeglasses were going up in price. Yeah, they „make them“ in the US, but the frames, even the little screws all come from China. The board game industry is at particular risk.
