DEFECT (Steam)

Check out this first gameplay reveal from Defect, a new game developed in Unreal Engine 5 by a new studio with Call of Duty, Quake and Doom developers. It also features music by Mick Gordon (composer for Doom). The studio is being funded by NCSoft and other smaller investors. Defect is a cyberpunk, squad-based, immersive objective shooter set in the last city of mankind, where THE SYSTEM, an authoritarian AI, rules with inhuman logic. Choose from a collection of dangerous factions and play with friends in PvP or co-op. Compete to achieve objectives like smuggling guns, assassinating targets, or arresting suspects. Suit up with state of the art weaponry and technology to give you the edge you need to live another day.

Gameplay Features:

Multiplayer: Players choose one of several dangerous factions, including the System’s police forces, Rogue Police Elements, or rival gangs. Matches are intense and tactical, featuring 4v4v4v4 combat with multiple objectives and different finales. Teams compete to complete goals such as smuggling guns, assassinating targets, or arresting suspects, utilizing futuristic weapons and technology.

Single Player: While initially focused on PvP and Co-op, the developers have recently announced plans for a single-player campaign as well.

DYNAMIC ACTION

Face off against rival squads in PVP. Fight in tense and tactical matches as a member of a four-person squad, as you attempt to fend off other teams eager to claim every credit and reward for their own. Every match has multiple objectives that can change dynamically over the course of a deployment.

PREPARE FOR ANARCHY

Come together with your squad to gear up and collect what you need in your squad car or gang hangout to be ready for anything the battle throws at you. While in the fight, keep an keen eye out for pickups that can change the course of the match. You never know what you’ll find.

wirkt sehr crazy, aber ich bin neugierig, wie das finale spiel aussehen bzw sich spielen wird.

das wirkt vom optischen Design her wie ein Spiel aus der 360/PS3-Zeit

mich hats zunächst an das erste fear erinnert, weil man da (iirc) auch als squad zu einem einsatzort hinfährt und man weiß es ist kein taktik- sondern ein horror-shooter.

ich lass mich mal überraschen, wie sie da noch eine singleplayer-kampagne reinquetschen bzw überhaupt das pvpve funktioniert. und natürlich wie die ganzen spielereien in der ue5 sämtliche systeme wieder in die knie zwingt, weil das spiel nicht gut optimiert wurde.
